Zbigniew W. Ras, Ph.D.

Zbigniew Ras is a Professor of Computer Science and KDD Laboratory Director at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He also holds professorship position in the Institute of Computer Science at Warsaw University of Technology. His areas of specialization include Actionable Knowledge Mining, Recommender Systems, Sentiment Analysis, Health Informatics, Music Information Retrieval, and Flexible Query Answering Systems. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Information Systems (Springer), Editor-in Chief of the International Journal of Social Network Mining (InderScience), and Senior Editor of the International Journal of Data Mining, Modelling and Management (InderScience). He is the author of more than 300 publications and the editor of 42 books published by Springer and North Holland. Prof. Ras received competitive grants and contracts from NSF, DOD/ARO, ONR, ORNL, DOE, SAS, IBM, and AMVIS (Czech Republic).
